Cookies for a Princess!
I had a cookie giveaway a few weeks ago that was hosted by The Sugar Co on facebook. The cookies were won by someone named Charlene. She asked that her cookies be donated to a little girl named Faith that is fighting cancer. I was so touched! Here is the link to Faiths facebook page, send her an encouraging message! I work at a children's hospital, and all of these kids fighting cancer just break my heart. I just wish there was more we could do. Hopefully these cookies added a little sparkle to her week! Enjoy Faith, you rock! Here's the link to her page -

Dora ballerina, tutus and ballet slippers
I had a request for some ballet cookies for a 3-year-olds' ballet recital. I made some regular cookies, and a few cookies on a stick, because the mom wanted to make a cookie bouquet. Since I was shipping them all the way to Alabama, I had to make them as sturdy as possible.
The Dora cookie is huge! I couldn't find the right size cookie cutter, so I washed the lid of my recipe box and used that! I like how it turned out because the corners were rounded. It ended up being about 7"x6". I drew her first with an edible marker, all free-hand, then I piped and flooded all the details.
For the ballet cookies, I first filled the cookie with white, let it dry, and then added the pink accents. The tutus are piped on first, then you use a paint brush to make it look sheer. I added a little luster dust shimmer to the bodice and the skirt.
The ballet slippers were made the same way as the tutu, and I added some little bite size cookies that coordinated with the order.

Exquisite Edible Fine Art For Mothers Day
I 'm offering one more cookie for Mothers Day - an edible watercolor. I took one large cookie and covered it in a smooth canvas of royal icing. I then painted it with edible food coloring. Each cookie is unique and signed by the artist (me!) I really love to paint cookies, and this one is by far my favorite! You can eat it of course, it's as yummy as it looks, but I'm going to allow mine to harden so I can frame it and hang it in my kitchen. A deep blue sky and colorful field of flowers, who wouldn't love edible art?

Nurse Themed Cookies
I was asked to make some cookies for a going-away party for someone who just finished nursing school. I made some scrub tops, hands with hearts (a nursing symbol) and bandaid's. I think the bandaid's are the cutest thing! I would totally eat a dozen of these! What do you think? Is it gross to eat a cookie in the shape of a bandaid?

Hand Painted Koi Cookies
I had an order for some koi cookies. I really enjoyed the hand painted bridal shower cookies, so I was really excited about making these. I love getting orders that challenge you, it makes you step outside your comfort zone and see what you're made of. I used diluted gel paste food coloring as the paint, it is a very similar process to water coloring. The fish have the slightest shimmer, just like real koi because of some white luster dust.
All I can say is keep the custom orders coming, they make me happy!

Strawberry Fields Cookie Bouquet
I made this cookie bouquet for a three year old with a Strawberry Shortcake themed birthday party. I made this bouquet a little differently than the last one, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I added a little pink disco dust to the white flowers, and what 3 year old doesn't love glitter? I added a little strawberry to the message cookie, with just the tiniest white dots. I hope she loved it!
