Cherry Chocolate Chunk |
It's cherry chocolate chunk marshmallows! I've been making homemade marshmallows my whole life - since I was about 8. I found the recipe in my moms old Better Homes and Gardens cookbook, and I've been hooked ever since. If you've never tried homemade marshmallows, you have no idea what you're missing! I'm a purist when it comes to most things, vanilla marshmallows will always be my favorite, but there is something so decadent about a marshmallow with ribbons of fudge or peanut butter or fruit. I'm constantly trying new flavor combinations, so if you have any ideas or requests - let me know!

oh man, I have never ventured into making marshmallows but these look soooo dang good...as far as ideas, how about meyer lemon marshmallows?? and can you ship those to Texas so I can critique them? lol ;o]
ReplyDeleteon another note, have you ever made french macarons? it's on my summer to-do list, hoping the humidity down here will affect them...I'll let you know how (and if) they turn out!!
Hey Kristen - I would love to try lemon - what a great idea! They would be so summery! I fell in love with macarons when we went to Paris last summer, but no one makes decent ones here! Not even the fancy french bakery that we love! Sur La Table is offering a class on them right now, and that's really tempting because I've heard there's a bit of a learning curve. I would be concerned about the humidity, only because of their resemblance to a baked meringue, but please try! Seriously - when are you coming home - we need to bake together!
ReplyDeleteaw, the closest SLT to me is in Dallas, but they are also offering a macaron class so maybe I'd be ok? we move back in 2014 if all goes as planned, I know - how fun would that be??? We could really tear it up! I'm planning on doing some serious bakery stalking while we're back east and taking notes so stay tuned! :)
